What is SimpleSumo?
SimpleSumo is an awesome little open source robot which allows anyone to build their very own mini-sumo robot with no prior knowledge in robotics at a price point that almost anyone can afford.
Who is SimpleSumo For?
Intended for small groups, ages 10+, this kit is targeted towards beginners as well as more advanced makers. SimpleSumo is designed with education in mind and is supported by free online resources including assembly instructions, video demos, and lesson plans.
Beginners will find that building SimpleSumo robots offers an excellent breadth of exposure to STEM education concepts. This includes Arduino coding, physics, intro to mechanical & electrical engineering challenges, 3D printing, and principles of scientific thinking. All-in-all SimpleSumo offers students a highly engaging way to get hands-on robot building experience.
More advanced users will find that SimpleSumo is easy to learn but hard to master. While some elements of the game rely on luck, much more has to do with player strategy and vehicle design. Experienced users will enjoy SimpleSumo's Mr.-Potato-head-style mechanical customizations and the endless possibilities for program tweaks.
